EDSP 6040 Intermediate Instructional Issues for Students with Severe Disabilities
Continued examination of key issues related to design, implementation, and evaluation of effective educational services for learners with significant disabilities. Emphasis on intermediate instructional issues including:1) making decisions about the selection and modification of general education curriculum targets as well as the design of specialized curriculum to improve the performance of students with significant disabilities, 2) identification, implementation, and evaluation of three instructional strategies for improving the quality of life for a student with significant disabilities, 3) co-design, implementation, and evaluation of an inclusive, standards based, general education lesson(s) over a four week period. Candidates must participate in cohort sessions to develop artifacts documenting the impact of their field work on student performance as a component of this course.
